PROFILE

Jennifer Chun’s namesake collection explores the dialogue between menswear-inspired tailoring and a refreshingly subtle femininity. Her experimental fabric stories, sophisticated color sensibility and intuitive sense of proportion yield assortments that feel both of the moment and timeless in their investment-worthy nature. It is for these reasons — and countless others — that hers are clothes that speak to high-taste curators of effortless cool.

Jennifer was born in South Korea and raised in Troy, Ohio by parents from whom she originally discovered her love of re-envisioning the original version of a garment. Upon fully recognizing her fashion design interests while attending American University, she soon transferred to the Pratt Institute where she studied art and fashion design. After graduation, Jennifer began her career working with Michael Kors, Derek Lam and Brian Reyes. She launched Jennifer Chun in 2009.

Jennifer made her New York Fashion Week debut with Gen Art’s ‘Fresh Faces in Fashion’ show with her Spring/Summer 2012 collection. She participated in the Pratt Institute’s Principals of Design: Pratt Fashion Alumni exhibition in Fall 2011. Jennifer’s press includes features in Lucky Magazine, WWD, The New York Times‘ The Moment and W Korea.

From Jennifer’s truly Mid-Western childhood and creative education, training with influential designers and her fearless willingness to feel inspired has built the stage for the visionary Jennifer Chun collections.
